The difference in my opinion between Mystique and Playboy is the way the girls are portrayed. I think with Mystique, you honestly see the true inner beauty in the women. With Playboy, I think it's more about posing. And trying to be what they want you to be, versus the photographer catching the actual beauty of the woman.

Winning the Model Safari had a whole lot to do with the person I am now, my confidence level, my attitude towards life in general. Whether I won or lost, I didn't think it would change my core attitude on modeling and life, and it did. I've definitely become a whole lot more comfortable in my own skin.

I met Aria Giovanni years ago. The very first thing I did was a topless set, and I was in New Orleans. And she was there with another girl. Aria was there, and she's like, it's okay, Erica. You know, you're going to be fine. And she kind of talked me through it. Calmed me down. And so then, there I was - topless.

In my personal life, outside of modeling, I'm the shyest person you've ever seen. My feet are stuck to the floor, and I'm totally shy. But modeling has given me an opportunity to open up. Oh my goodness. The camera goes on, and It just turns something else on for me. I mean, I'm not that shy little girl anymore.

Erica says winning Mystique's 5th Anniversary Model Safari in 2003 changed her. Rising above the other 2,000 contestants to claim the title greatly boosted her confidence and self esteem, and she says it helped take her modeling to the next level. Her popularity subsequently soared online, and she went on to win another prestigious glamour title, becoming Playboy's Special Editions Model of the Year in 2005.

Originally from New Hampshire, Erica still lives in the Northeast. She loves animals, especially horses, and passionately participates in Equine rescue and rehabilitation organizations. She loves to ride, and even has her own champion show horse, which she is very proud of.

Erica says modeling really helps her express herself, and when working, she puts her whole heart and soul into it. Prior to modeling, she pursued a nursing degree, which makes sense because Erica is a natural caretaker. She is a strong, confident and a straightforward person who can't stand dishonesty.
