HELP AND FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1) I'm being asked to pay to see something I know I already paid for or have access to.
Be sure you have logged in using the top navigation bar. The buttons on the page will change after you have logged in. If they don't change, your browser may have cached the page. Hit the borwser refresh button. If you don't see a log in bar at the top of the page, then you may need to upgrade to a newer web browser.

2) I want to update my email address, payment info, change my password, or cancel my account.
Click on the 'My Account' link at the bottom of the page, or at the top if you are logged in. You'll find the options to completely manage your account there.

3) Whenever I try to access certain things on the site, such as model characteristics like "Hair Color" or "Eye Color," I get the following error message:

XMLHttp Request error: 400 Bad Request

or

The login bar does not appear at the top of the page where I log in and my name usually appears. It's just blank up there where it should be.
The solution to both problems above is to upgrade your web browser. Mystique utilizes a technology called AJAX, and some older browsers do not support it. On the Mac, you should use the latest version of Safari or Firefox on Mac OS 10.4 or higher. On the PC, you should use Firefox 1.5 or higher, a version of Internet Explorer build 6.0.2900 or later, or Netscape versions 8.1 and above. Older versions of Internet Explorer and Netscape will not work correctly (Netscape 7.2 will likely crash). Windows users will need XP with Service Pak 2, or Vista. Vista users should be fine with IE. Linux users should browse Mystique with Firefox. We do not support Opera and browsers other than those listed above.

For the absolute best and smoothest experience on the Mystique site, we recommend you use the Firefox browser (1.5 or later, the newer the better). In our opinion, it is by far the best and most reliable browser, and works flawlessly with all aspects of the Mystique website.

4) How do I see all the collections, videos and photos I have access to, or manage my model subscriptions or globally change my Mystique site preferences?
You can completely manage your entire account from your personalized dashboard. Access by clicking the 'Member Dashboard' link that appears at the top of the page after you have logged in.

5) I'm having trouble logging in, or how do I log in?

You should log in using the navigation bar at the very top of the home page (see #3 above if you don't see any place to enter your email address or password). Remember your login is case sensitive. That means upper and lower case letters matter. JOHN@aol.com is not the same as john@aol.com. Also remember email addresses do not begin with "www." Please make sure you have your browser configured to accept javascript, all cookies, and your firewall or proxy is not blocking access. If you are using Internet Explorer, do the following: 1) click on EXTRAS 2) click on INTERNET OPTIONS 3) click on DATA SAFETY 4) put the button on "Medium" 5) OK

6) I'm having problems watching video clips or listening to audio. I get broken icons, big question marks, or I hear audio but there is no video.
In order to fully enjoy the multimedia on the Mystique site, you will need both the latest version of the Flash player and most recent version of Quicktime installed. You DO NOT need to pay for the Pro version. The free version of each will work fine.

7) What's the difference between "LO" and "HI" video settings?
"HI" will always be the best quality, but you will need a fast internet connection and reasonably fast (2.0mhz or more) computer processor to watch them. For HD video clips, you will need a 2.5mz or faster computer for smooth playback with a good video card. If you are on a slower connection, or if your computer is a little older or doesn't have a mid-level or faster video card and processor, then you will want to choose the 'LO" video setting. "LO" won't be as clear or as smooth, but at least you can still watch the videos.

8) When I enlarge a picture, it loads fine, but then it suddenly shrinks smaller and sometimes looks fuzzy or really bad.
This is caused by a setting in Internet Explorer and AOL that makes pictures fit inside a window. You can turn the feature off by going to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced, then scroll down the list to the multimedia area and uncheck the box that says "Enable Automatic Picture Resizing."

9) When I enlarge a photo, sometimes it is a .bmp instead of a .jpeg. What gives?
All the photos on Mystique are delivered in the jpeg format. Some web browsers, such as Internet Explorer (on the PC, not Mac) get confused because Mystique encrypts the links to most of its images for protection. You can always choose to "Save As" and select the jpeg (jpg) option. Or use Firefox, Mozilla, Opera, Safari, or Netscape. They do not have this issue.

10) I can't see all the pictures, or there are X's on my screen where pictures should be.
You need to adjust your browser or firewall settings. Make sure your IE trusted site zone is set to "*.mystique-magazine.com." Here are the steps to take in your firewall and IE:

If using "Zone Alarm" as your firewall, in the privacy settings, under "Private Header," change it to "allow."

1. Start Symantec Client Firewall
2. Click on Client Firewall
3. Click on Configure
4. Select Network Tab
5. Click on Add...
6. Select the Individually radio button option
7. Enter www.mystique-magazine.com
8. Click Add
9. Repeat Steps 5 – 8 using media.mystique-magazine.com
10. Click on OK
11. Close Symantec Client Firewall

1. Start Internet Explorer
2. Click on Tools
3. Choose Internet Options
4. Select the Security Tab
5. Click the Sites button
6. Ensure the box labeled Require Server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone is unchecked
7. enter *.mystique-magazine.com in the box
8. Click Add
9. Click OK
10. Click OK
11. Refresh or restart your browser

11) If I purchase something, how does it appear on my credit card or bank statement?
It will say "8885482080 Infinity"

12) I noticed a few models that were on the old Mystique website aren't on the new site. What happened to them?
For a number of reasons, and sometimes at the model's request, Mystique has chosen to "retire" the photos and videos of some of its models. Sorry for any disappointment.

13) How do I buy the magazine version of the covers I see on the website?
Mystique Magazine's covers are created to promote a model's collection of photos and videos related to a specific theme. They do not correspond to an actual magazine. Mystique has produced a printed magazine in the past, but the market is not favorable for printed men's magazines right now.

14) All I see are question marks or big black holes where it looks like video clips should be.
You need to have the latest version of Flash and Quicktime installed. Please see item #6 above for assistance.

15) The photos looks really bad or muddy on my screen.
You shoud set your screen to at least 24-bit, millions of colors, and a resolution of 1024x800 or higher. If you are using AOL, be sure the option to compress photos is turned off.

16) I paid for access, but when I click on a photo in the photo viewer or thumbnail page, nothing happens. It won't enlarge bigger.
Please be sure your pop-up blocker is turned off on your browser. If that does not help, then make sure both pop-up and ad blocker boxes are unchecked if you are using Norton Internet Security or a similar product.

17) I cannot view photos on the site. When I enlarge a picture, I get a "broken picture" icon. Also, whenever I try to download a zip file, I get an empty zip file called "uobf.zip".
You need to check your web browser settings, usually under the security or advanced section, and make sure that the option that says "accept all cookies" is checked. You also need to make sure you are clicking to view images from a Mystique web page that begins with www.mystique-magazine.com.

18) How do I see the full length, higher quality videos? All I see are the little short 20 second ones!
If you have paid for access to a collection (or redeemed credits for it), navigate to it. If you haven't already, you'll want to log in at the top of the page. Next, click on the big orange button that says "view collection." Then either click the picture of the video in the lower left of the thumbnail page, or click where it says "watch video" near the upper right.
